Online Physiotherapy

Although yes… Physiotherapy is commonly associated with hands-on treatment… we have recently identified the need for quick access to excellent physiotherapy advice and treatment recommendations without face-to-face contact.

With that in mind our online physiotherapy service was born. Using Telehealth technologies we can now assess and diagnose your injuries online through video consultations and a secure messaging service.

One of our specialist therapists will connect with you via video link to complete the initial assessment, provide treatment advice in relation to your issue and prescribe you with a bespoke online exercise programme using our PhysiApp mobile phone application.

All exercises will be available in video format and include a thorough description of how to perform them with the correct technique as well as detailed guidance on the frequency and intensity. Follow-up online physio appointments can be scheduled to offer ongoing support as you progress through your tailored rehabilitation plan.

Although there are circumstances when manual treatment is required, the online physiotherapy service that we provide offers an alternative means of modern physiotherapy. Now you can follow tailored exercise programmes independently with guidance from a specialist physiotherapist along the way without the need to come into the clinic.

Massage

We offer a variety of different massage types to suit your needs, including sports massage, deep tissue massage and relaxation. Sports and deep tissue massage are the most effective means of reducing tension and scar tissue, which in turn elongates muscles in order to reduce the likelihood of injuries occurring, restore mobility and reduce pain.

Prevention

Specialised exercise programs combining strength, stretching and core elements in order to reduce the chances of injuries occurring.

Injury management

This is a co-ordinated and integrated approach including prevention measures, exercise plans to reduce the likelihood of injuries, and techniques to facilitate your recovery.

Rehabilitation

Our rehabilitation programs involve progressional exercises through acute, repair and return phases incorporating all fitness components to allow the body to have full mobility, strength and co-ordination.

Mobilisations

Mobilisations increase mobility in joints and reduce pain enabling your joints full mobility pain-free.

Exercise programs

Our exercise programs include building muscular strength, increasing flexibility and mobility and strengthening the core muscles to help you reach your recovery goals. We also have specific programs designed for gait re-education and manipulation.

Running and movement biomechanics analysis

A biomechanical running analysis is used to investigate why your running is not how it could/should be, why you are not achieving your goals and to aid with training.

It is very different from a gait analysis that you might have done to help you choose your trainers, we will be looking at your movement patterns to see if there is a weakness that may be affecting speed or injury risk, and then helping coach you to re-educate your movement patterns.

The main reasons people come for an analysis is to learn:

  • Injury prevention & reducing stress throughout your body

  • Improving efficiency, speed and event times

  • Increasing running strength and confidence

Stretching

Our stretching programs (involves Pilate, Yoga and Tai Chi influenced stretches) encourage your muscles and tendons to lengthen, in order to promote flexibility and range of movement in the joints as well as improving muscle recovery.

Electrotherapy

Our electrotherapy programs use Ultrasound technology to increase local blood flow in an injured area, in order to increase the breakdown of scar tissue. This can help to reduce pain and improve recovery rates.

Taping & strapping

Our taping and strapping programs help to support vital joints in order to provide a correct method to reactivate weaker muscles, improve circulation and prevent further injury.

Medical acupuncture

Medical acupuncture is the most effective treatment for joint stiffness and muscular tightness, and can also be used to treat headaches and migraines. Acupuncture works by increasing local blood flow, in order to enhance relaxation and stimulate the body’s healing process.

Vacuum Cupping

Cupping is a safe, non-invasive and inexpensive technique. It is used to alleviate the pain and discomfort arising from disorders of the lungs and other internal organs, muscle spasms, joint pains, and numerous other conditions.

Cupping consists of applying a partial vacuum by suction in one or several bell-shaped vessels (suction cups) to parts of the skin.

This causes the tissues beneath the cup to be drawn up and swell increasing blood flow to the affected area. This enhanced blood flow under the cup draws impurities and toxins away from the nearby tissues and organs towards the surface for elimination.

Spinal Manipulation

Spinal Manipulations are very useful for lower back pain, mid back pain and neck pain. Spinal manipulation has been shown to alter muscle function and can have a therapeutic effect on muscle spasm via spinal reflexes. At the same time it can be used to enhance muscle performance making it highly beneficial during therapy sessions where rehab gains are required.
